| Record the number of cigarettes you smoke | You should record the number of cigarettes you smoke each day.
You will need a:
- Cigarette scorecard (click here to view / print a sample scorecard)
- Cigarette pencil
Each time you smoke a cigarette, put a pencil mark on the scorecard showing the day and time you smoked. At the end of the day, add up the number of cigarettes you smoked and write it at the bottom of the card. |

| Wait before you light up | | Over the next 5 days, whenever you have an urge to smoke, wait 5 minutes before doing so. |

| One pack at a time | | For the next 5 days, buy your cigarettes one pack at a time, not by the carton. |

| Smoking Lifeline | | On the lifeline below, click onto those years that you have been a smoker.
Leave out those years, or parts of years, that you may have quit.
